Macavis Construction & Plant Hire is a family-run construction firm based in Dover, Kent. Founded in 2015 by our Managing Director John Davis, the company has seen a huge expansion in recent years. We manage various small residential construction projects and also sub-contract packages for large main contractors throughout the South East of England.
Our success is down to our people, they are our biggest asset! We hold a strong belief in training and retaining talented individuals so invest in training and continual professional development. Our team of skilled tradesmen are extremely competent and the whole team understands their own responsibility in pursuing quality, excellence and respect of the environment for the benefit of the whole company.

Experience
Macavis Construction undertake a wide range of works from foundations, block and beam, trial holes, drainage, demolition, soft and hard landscaping including concrete, tarmac and block paving. See our services section to see more of our scope of works.
We have completed projects on behalf of local authorities, schools/colleges, commercial clients and numerous well established main contractors throughout Dover, Deal, Folkestone, Thanet, Canterbury, Ashford, Maidstone and their surrounding villages.
Health & Safety
Macavis Construction & Plant Hire are committed to providing a safe working environment for both our colleagues, clients and the public. It is our company policy to ensure all necessary resources in terms of manpower, plant & equipment, training and supervision are available to enable our workforce to execute their work safely.
All employees hold a minimum of a CSCS card. We provide ongoing training, site inductions and also advanced/ specialist qualifications to meet specific contract requirements. Macavis are committed to continual professional development and are also certified to carry out Non licensed Asbestos Removal works.
All our current contracts include an appointed Health & Safety person. We adopt all necessary Health & Safety policies including any bespoke specialist Health & Safety training required for specific projects. We have a dedicated Health & Safety advisor responsible for updating risk and method statements and keeping our workforce up to date with current requirements and legislation. Our priority is a safe work environment for all.
